Map the entrance as a space you move through
Measure the floor plan and ceiling height, and note door swings, stair landings and the main walking route. In a double-height entrance, record both the lower-level view and the view from above. Keep the fixture clear of the space people and doors need to occupy.
Take photographs from the entrance, the stair landing and nearby rooms. These views help compare proportion more honestly than a single close-up.
Compare the full silhouette
Use the product's width, depth and overall drop to judge its visual presence. A ring, globe cluster and tiered chandelier can occupy the same nominal width yet feel very different. Consider the canopy and suspension as part of the composition.
A lightweight paper outline can help compare width at eye level. Do not suspend an improvised weight or use a mock-up as an installation test. See our Size Guide for a measurement checklist.
Compare a ring silhouette.
The Bead Ring Alabaster Chandelier currently lists widths of 23.6″, 31.5″ and 39.4″, approximately 60, 80 and 100 cm. These are fixture dimensions; request the suspension range and complete installed drop separately.
Browse chandeliers and keep each shortlisted model's dimensions alongside your hallway measurements.
Let an installer assess the difficult details
High ceilings, stairwells and sloped surfaces need planning for safe access, support and future maintenance. Confirm the fixture weight, suspension range and suitability of the mounting arrangement before ordering.
Ask where the final lower edge will sit in relation to walking routes and upper-floor viewpoints. The design position should also satisfy the product instructions and site requirements.
Build a comfortable welcome
Consider the light level from adjoining spaces, glare at the front door and whether the chandelier will be the only light in the hall. Wall lighting or other suitable ambient lighting may help create a more comfortable transition.
The Bead Ring Alabaster Chandelier is shown in our generated entrance scene as a styling example. Confirm its selected dimensions and installation details for your own hallway; the image is not a scale drawing.
Questions before you choose
Can I choose a chandelier using ceiling height alone?
Use ceiling height together with the footprint, door and stair clearances, fixture dimensions and suspension limits.
Can a foyer chandelier fit on a sloped ceiling?
Only if the selected product and mounting arrangement are suitable. Send the ceiling angle and photographs for review before ordering.
